Group psychotherapy is a very effective approach to addressing the issues some are seeking to work on, particularly relational issues. Groups provide additional perspectives on members' concerns, can offer alternative solutions to a specific problems, and can offer broad feedback and support, in addition to the therapeutic interventions by group leaders.
I co-lead a men's psychotherapy group with Dr. Anthony LoPresti. This group is intended to be an open-ended therapy process group for men 25-55. The group's focus is on emotional expression and relationship-building, ideally for men with intact social skills but who want to improve their emotional awareness or opportunities for emotional expression and relationship in their daily lives. The group seeks to provide a safe and supportive setting for emotional expression, as well as a setting for discussing issues of identity, friendships, romantic/marital relationships, parenting, and professional development.
