In case of inclement or snowy weather that delays or closes local schools/governments, I try to come into the office if possible and safe.
If in-person sessions are not an option, teletherapy sessions will be offered as an alternative to maintain continuity of care.
I do not necessarily close if the public schools or local/Federal governments are closed.

To find out if the office is open for in-person appointments:
The first thing I do is change my outgoing voicemail message to reflect the current date and my status (open, closed, opening late or closing early). Please call my office at 703-761-3100 to see if the office is open before traveling.
Once I have made a decision, I will call or email individual patients as early as I can. For patients I see early in the morning, I will email (if I have your email) as soon as I make a decision, typically by 7am. I will call patients as early as 8am. NOTE: Phone calls will come from an unpublished number if I am calling from home. I will leave a voicemail message when possible.
If you hear my regular message when you call my office and it is after 8am, it means that I am open as usual.
Obviously, if you feel you cannot travel safely to my office for a scheduled appointment, please call the office to reschedule, switch to teletherapy, or cancel as necessary.
